Coachella '08 Hghlights

Well, another Coachella has passed and needless to say it was a pretty good one. Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) absolutely ruined it, as always (in a good way.) He has this uncanny power of transforming an audience into carefree bouncing mass of joy. He is the musical Willy Wonka (Check the first video.) Pendulum was another event highlight, as was Goldfrapp. Kraftwerk was good, but not nearly as good as their '04 performance. Calvin Harris and Mark Ronson were loads of fun and Prince is a funk monster (no pun intended.) He started his set by saying probably the coolest thing I've ever heard. He said, "I am here...And right now you are all at the coolest place in the world." And at that second I knew I was. I would have posted some video of Prince, but they were already stripped of their sound on Youtube due to copyright infringements :(

Anyway, take some time to check out some of the video below. Scroll away and enjoy!

Rock the Bells Press Conference and Secret Show
This past Tuesday, April 22nd I had the opportunity to attended the Rock the Bells lineup release press conference. That day I saw 3/4 of Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Murs, MC Supernatural, Wale and Jay Electronica all in one room. Basically hip-hop 101 in the flesh. Following the press conference was a secret show featuring most of the artists listed above, with the addition of Raekwon (The Chef) and J. Rocc of the World Famous Beat Junkies. Quite the experience. Video of the festivities are below. Enjoy!

Coachella '08

Well with the recent addition of Prince, Aphex Twin and Goldfrapp, Coachella is looking pretty fierce once again. I still have a hunch another addition will happen, especially with that gaping hole at the top of the poster. Either way, I'm content. And since we are exactly two weeks away from the momentous event, I decided to only post Coachella related articles and Music. The countdown begins...
